Kinderdance is more than just a dance program. Kinderdance is a developmentally designed dance, creative movement, gymnastics and fitness program blended with academics. Lesson plans, props, stories and songs are used for every class. In addition, a movement vocabulary is used to increase preschooler’s sensory awareness.

Kinderdance Programs include Kinderdance and Kindergym (ages 3-5), Kindertots (age 2) and Kindercombo for after school children (age 6-8) Kindermotion (3-12).

All of the Kinderdance programs were developmentally designed by a leader in the early childhood movement education field. Kinderdance was founded and created by dancer and educator Carol Kay Harsell. She is a published author and has conducted extensive research in early childhood education and communication through dance.

Kinderdance blends early childhood education with dance and free movement exploration. Most parents choose Kinderdance over other enrichment programs for this reason. Our programs meet the needs of the academically-minded parent, the structured dance-minded parent and the free movement-minded parent. Children learn the basics of ballet, tap, acrobatic and modern dance skills as well as body awareness, motor development skills and spatial relationships. Age-appropriate academics are blended with all Kinderdance lessons. Children learn colors, numbers, shapes and movement words.

The demonstration is an opportunity for parents to see what their children have learned in Kinderdance all year. The event is totally managed by Kinderdance, and the demonstration adds a “special event” to your calendar of activities.

Kinderdance instructors handle all of the program details and communicate directly and frequently with the parents. The philosophy of Kinderdance is to involve parents as much as possible. Parents are invited to observe classes during the year. Instructors also update parents on their child’s progress through phone calls, newsletters and progress reports. Instructors clear this communication through you. This important communication between instructors and parents reflects well on you and your school.
